It came when he pioneered the integration of augmented reality and 3D imaging into neurosurgery, making procedures safer and more precise. His appointment as Chair of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai in 2008 allowed him to implement these innovations on a larger scale, establishing him as a leader in advanced neurosurgical techniques.
