Where is she from?


She grew up in Arlington, Virginia, attending local public schools and showing an early interest in media by interning at the Washington, D.C., radio station WAVA during high school.

Big break in life

Katie’s big break came in 1991 when she was named co-anchor of NBC’s Today show, a role she held for 15 years, solidifying her place as one of America’s most beloved journalists.

To get that job she worked her way up. First as a desk assistant at ABC News in Washington, D.C., and eventually as the Deputy Pentagon Correspondent.
