Kraig Swensrud & Sean Whiteley

3x Tech-Founders at Kieden, GetFeedback, and Qualified

Why are they on our inspiration board?

Kraig and Sean have started three successful companies together. It'd be fun to hear about their journey together, and the importance relationships have played along the way.

Big break in life

Kraig and Sean founded a company called Kiden that was squired by Salesforce in 2006. Kraig went onto become the CMO at Salesforce, and Sean was a SVP & GM. The two left Salesforce to start GetFeedback, which was sold to Campaign Monitor, then they started Qualified which is where they are today. To date, Qualified has raised $163 million.

Their networks

When you look the institutions someone has been a part of, it gives you a window into their network and a sense for the types of people know.

  • Salesforce: They both spent 6 years there from 2006-2012, and held senior roles. The three companies they started also have had a significant tie to Salesforce and the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Qualified: Their most recent company, with +200 employees.
  • Tech Companies: They've sold into all kinds of companies, but tech startups have always been early adopters, so their networks are extremely strong there.

Quotes we love

Starting a company, no matter how much experience you’ve had, is always a challenge. And it starts with the founding team… You have to have the same vision. You have to be aligned with what you want to create.
When we have Kraig and Sean on the podcast, we'll also have them tell the story of the fat bear, skinny bear, and the impact that philosophy has had on their careers.
